Kinbane Castle

Built in 1547 Kinbane Castle is situated in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, on a long, narrow limestone headland known as kinbane head.

sunset @ giants causeway

The Giant's Causeway is an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic eruption. It is located in County Antrim on the northeast coast of Northern Ireland, about three miles northeast of the town of Bushmills. i shot this using long exposure at sunset, one of the nicest iv seen may i add.

bridge to pans rock

the pans rock is a formation at the eastern end of ballycastle beach on the north antrim coast. its a popular spot for fishing and so a footbridge has been built out to it. the bridge is necessary as it becomes an island at high tide. this was taking during sunset.

mourne view sunset

Sunset view of the famous mourne mountains. This shot was taken at a secluded area close to tyrella beach. I just about got my gear together to get the sun going down behind slieve donard (the highest summit of the mournes)

cascade falls @ tollymore

Tollymore Forest Park was the first state forest park in Northern Ireland, established on 2 June 1955. It is located at Bryansford, near the town of Newcastle in the Mourne and Slieve Croob Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.I actually fell in before this shot.. yes you heard right! only casualty was my iphone.

Reflections of mount errigal

Errigal is a 751-metre mountain near Gweedore in County Donegal, Ireland. It is the tallest peak of the Derryveagh Mountains, the tallest peak in County Donegal, and the 76th tallest peak in Ireland. This is the only day i came across blue sky in 4 visits. even with rain hail or snow this place is unreal.

Sunset @ Dunluce

Dunluce Castle is located dramatically close to a headland that plunges straight into the sea, along the North Antrim coast, and was the headquarters of the MacDonnell Clan. I tempted fate taking this shot as a tidal wave crashed about five foot in front of me. Lesson learned.. until next time lol.

Bunbeg Shipwreck

The Bunbeg Wreck, or Eddies Boat as it is also known, is a wrecked ship on Magherclogher Beach. The ship ran ashore here in the 1970s when it got into trouble on stormy waters.  It has been here ever since a proud part of local heritage and is considered to be Gweedore’s very own Titanic.  In order to get up close and personal with the ship the tide needs to be well out, but be assured it is well worth the effort!!

The Beautiful Mourne Mountains

Here are a few photos i have taken while exploring the breath taking mournes. There will be plenty more to come as i feed my new addiction of hiking there. Find out more from my recent trips on my blog.
